Berkeley Analytical is an approved laboratory for GEV EMICODE® VOC Certification

Berkeley Analytical is honored to announce that it has been approved by the Association for the Control of Emissions in Products for Flooring Installation, Adhesives and Building Materials (GEV) as a testing laboratory for their EMICODE® certification program for low-emitting building materials. GEV created EMICODE certification to provide the market with a method to assess VOC emissions from adhesives and the other building products and to differentiate these products based on environmental and occupational safety criteria. EMICODE has headquarters in Germany and is international in scope with its label available in 23 languages. EMICODE has the important distinction of being the only VOC label that performs unannounced quality checks for VOC emissions at regular intervals.

Berkeley Analytical is now the sole approved laboratory for EMICODE testing outside of the E.U. GEV’s decision to admit Berkeley Analytical to the select group of approved laboratories was based on the laboratory’s outstanding performance in the latest GEV round robin study, GEV-RRT-2023. Additionally, the scope of Berkeley Analytical’s ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation includes standard method EN 16516 that is used for EMICODE testing. Company’s seeking to achieve EMICODE certification for emission classes EC 2, EC 1, and EC 1PLUS may confidently choose Berkeley Analytical without restriction as their testing provider.
